Paper Flower Art 🌸

Hello Spring, goodbye Covid-19!

Trying to remain positive and productive during these trying times has not been easy but not impossible!

I have an official checklist on surviving  Covid-19:

Wash hands, always! ✅
Sanitize ✅
Keep social distance ✅
Stay indoors, only essential shopping ✅
Wear facial mask when out doors ✅
Be creative ☹️

I forgot about keeping up my home decor.
It might sound strange to think about home decor, but when you are stuck in the house during a pandemic, your surroundings could play a major role on your mood. I know that this is true for me. I decided to create a Spring Decor based on the materials I had already. Remember, shopping for spring decor is not essential!
It is necessary to brighten up your environment if you can.
It was my first attempt of making paper flowers. By the time I finished, and placed it in the living room, each family member would look up and say, "Oh, flowers, nice!"

Be creative  ✅
Remain positive  ✅
Okay, okay, I’m only human, I’m working on remaining positive😉
I was inspired by Robert from Kin YouTube channel on DIY giant paper flowers. Check out his YouTube page, Crafted with Robert Mahar. He does amazing work!

Please everyone, take care...remain safe!

Looking your Sunday best

Customized accessories!

Custom hat and shoe designs for any occasion.

My mom is a member of a ministry at her church called “family and friends” The theme color for their anniversary was pink,  therefore it was time to add pink to her wardrobe.  She purchased a pink hat and she had white shoes that were cute and comfortable. But she wanted to be jazzy, who can blame her, she’s a stylish woman who likes to stand out. She needed customize accessories in a short amount of time, so she asked for my help.  I enthusiastically accepted the challenge. I enjoy the process of problem-solving. It keeps me on my toes and it helps me to think outside the box. So her pink hat went from pretty to  glitter fabulous. Her white shoes transformed into gorgeous shining pink shoes with a jewelry trim.
So for this year‘s anniversary, she was decked out from head to toe in pink. What made her look fabulous was her accessories, but mostly her warm personality.  When she said that I have a gorgeous mom, I couldn’t agree with her more. The smile on her face when she was ready was priceless!

If you have a hat or a pair of shoes that you don’t mind transforming into a custom color and style, contact me at artbybondny@gmail.com.

I love plants!

I love plants and they don’t love me!

Unfortunately, plants do not survive under my care. Maybe I over water them, underwater them. Perhaps my place is too hot. I don’t know. Succulents are my favorite. Especially the short ones with the rounded edges. They’re so adorable. I was told that they are hard to kill. I have purchased about five within the last three years. Each died slowly and painfully. (I am swiping my tears now)

I have come to realize that I am.....I am.........a plant killer.........Yes a plant killer!

Living wall plants are current in home design. I saw one in person and visually,  it took my breath away!

No way I will invest in a living plant wall arrangement, but I was inspired to create my own using artificial plants and flowers.

Christmas Craft Memories

Christmas Craft Memories

There have been many special moments during this
holiday season, but the one that stood out for me was the time that my niece and I did a painting task. This task involved a lot of green paint!

I did this activity in a preschool classroom, the children loved it! Since we didn't have enough space for a large tree I asked my niece if she wouldn't mind making a wallpaper Christmas tree. Despite of the fact that she was older than a preschooler, she didn't mind creating a Christmas tree.
So we got started with a lot of green paint, glitter and fingers. She didn't mind the messy project. She said she had a really good time.  It touched me deeply. This Christmas tree has been part of our family tradition ever since. Never threw the tree out, we use it every year.

Kish and Pete’s Baby Shower

Photo Invite 5"x 7"

Kish and Pete’s Baby Shower

The happy and excited couple were expecting the birth of their baby boy soon…….
It was time for a baby shower!
Since they knew the gender of the baby, it was, it was fun to play around with different shades of blue. The mason jar's with blue tinted with acrylic ice with the light side. The jars with trimmed with rhinestones (My sister, Kishla loves sparkle). The other table decorations included mini cardboard onesies with bow ties.
Also part of the table decor, where the battery operated tea lights in the shape of bottles.
The party gifts were a smash hit. Since Christmas time was around the corner, but not part of the theme, I came up with the idea of using clear ornament holders filled with blue covered chocolate candies. And I topped it off with deep blue ribbon with white polka dots and cardboard. The party guests spontaneously started to shake the party gifts. It transformed into a music maker. It was fantastic, all the adults had fun. I must post a video someday…… it was amazing.

Hey guys, I'm going to say that again. If anyone is interested in creative table settings or party favors please email me at artbybond@gmail.com.

Please help support the arts.

Celebration Treats

Photo Collage 8"x10"

Celebration Treats

My niece wanted to celebrate her birthday with two of her childhood friends. She has known them since her age was in the single digits. They met at church. They were part of the young choir called,” Rosebuds”.
Jocelyn and friends celebrated her 14th birthday at New Rock City, filled with food, games and other activities.
I wanted to create something special for her and her friends. I made goody boxes filled with assorted candies.
Decorative paper was carved into three boxes and the petals were formed individually.
The day after her celebration, I asked if her and her friends enjoyed the goody boxes.
She replied “Yes! her friends said it was beautiful and they were thankful”.
Her mom said “ Yeah, they left the back sit cover in glittered paper empty candy wraps!”

How can you go wrong with candy?…….. LOL

Christmas Decor 2013

Christmas Decor 2013

This holiday has always been a special time for our household, especially for my niece Jocelyn growing up.

Time began to slow down a little bit, a couple of days before Christmas. This was the time to reflect the reason for the season and counting our blessings.

It was an additional blessing to have time off for the Christmas break. A chance to refuel.

The smell of my mom's wonderful cooking filled in the air. The holiday decorations, including lights, filled up the walls of our home.

Sometimes, I think it was more for my father, "GrandPuba", than anyone else. He would always use Jocelyn as an excuse and say, "WE NEED MORE, WE NEED MORE DECORATIONS!"....LOL

Kishla & Pete Together in Happiness

Photo collage 8"x10"

Kishla & Pete Together in Happiness

The beautiful bride, my sister, asked me to produce an invitation that represented elegance and bling. She loves the stylist, David Tutera and enjoyed his reality show. I am a fan of his as well. He is also my inspiration. I knew she wanted things to sparkle on a budget.
The Invitations were a series of ideas in layers. Various software programs were used to achieve the elegant look.  Metallic finished paper was used to finish the look.
I came up with the idea “Together in Happiness” for two causes, one was a celebration of the love of this wonderful couple and love ones gathering in this to witness this holy matrimony.
And trust me, it was true that everyone was together and happiness  on that special day, August 3, 2013.
The party favors with something fun that my sister thought of. She desired to give the guest Hershey kisses, that's her way of saying thank you. So I decided to invest in soft metallic sheen finished gift boxes with shimmering metallic lavender tulle ribbon with silver tabs that reads thank you for them.
Since we were on a budget, instead of purchasing a ring pillow, I prepared one from scratch for the ring boy to carry. Kishla was very happy with the outcomes. My fashion design degree finally paid off…. LOL.
I want the to give a shout out to the photographer of the loving couple, please check out this talented person’s website at www.jwallacedesigns.com

Kishla's Bridal Shower 2013

Photo Collage 8"x6"

Kishla's Bridal Shower

Kish is my sister, She is younger than me. I was the big sister who made sure that she didn't roll off the bed when she was a baby. As a toddler, she would try to walk before balance. I, the big sister, trying to catch her before she fell. I was always looking out for her.
Then decades later, she ask for my help, as a Maid of Honor at her wedding.
Oh no! I thought, I hope not to let her down. I don't anything about weddings (Dare I say, not a fan of them. Yes I said it!)
So sent me to jail.....
I prefer quick court house, and a nice small gathering later in a house.
Oh no, not my little sis, she wanted all the whistle and bells.
Well, I tried my best. I always look out for her, so gave her what she wanted, sparkle, glitter, and glam.
Thank goodness my imagination can spread beyond painting on canvas.
It was an Amethyst Gem themed shower. The Invitations was computer generated in layers. The table settings idea racked my brain. It took ideas into one. Especially the gem "look" inside the glass. That was with the help of acrylic ice. Also topped off balloon within  ballon. It shocked me. But I pulled it off.
You can use different elements to create clear glass look. Some people use colored candies. Water beads, great look for fresh flower inserts flowers, etc.

If I can do it anyone can............tried it yourself!
